Islamabad’s Excise and Taxation Department (E&T) has decided to facilitate vehicle owners by extending the deadline for token tax submission to 30 June 2021. The order for this relaxation was reportedly issued by the office yesterday.
As per the official notice, citizens will be able to submit their token tax amounts at the excise office between 9 am and 8 pm. The time for fee submission has also been extended beyond office hours to allow the public to conveniently submit their fees before the deadline to avoid burdening them with unnecessary fines.
As per the orders of the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, the E&T office will remain open on Saturdays until the deadline for people to conveniently submit their fees on the weekend.
Pakistan Post has been directed to collect the token tax fee of vehicles before 30 June without any fines. Vehicle owners will be able to submit their token taxes to the authorized Pakistan Post offices in different sectors of Islamabad.
A couple of months ago, the E&T department of Islamabad had reportedly decided to provide all the essential services, including vehicle registration, to citizens at their doorsteps. This decision had been made to ensure the safety of both employees and citizens during the third wave of the pandemic in the country.
