Govt Issues New Criteria for Getting the Pfizer Vaccine

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has allowed expatriates to be vaccinated for Coronavirus. However, this vaccine will not be administered to people aged 18 or older if they have received any other currently available COVID-19 vaccines.

The NCOC has issued new guidelines pertaining to the Pfizer vaccine. According to these guidelines those who must go abroad for employment before July 26th can apply to get the Pfizer-BioNTech Coronavirus vaccine.

These guidelines also specify patients with certain health conditions cannot get the Pfizer vaccine. This includes a range of health complications from asthma to immune diseases.

The government body stated that the Pfizer vaccine will be administered to those expatriates that are going to countries where the Chinese vaccines are not yet recognized. This includes workers going to Saudi Arabia on work visas.

In addition, Federal Minister Asad Umar tweeted that the fourth wave of Coronavirus is anticipated to hit Pakistan in July. He warned that non-compliance with SOPs will increase the spread of the Coronavirus. He advised that citizens follow COVID-19 SOPs and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
