Huawei’s Nova 8 series continues to expand over the years and there are still no signs of stopping. We now have our 5th phone in the series dubbed the Huawei Nova 8i that has just become official in Malaysia for about $312.

Upfront, there is a 6.67″ FullHD+ LCD that Huawei calls an “Edgeless Display” due to its extremely small bezels. However, there is also a pill-shaped selfie camera housed inside a cutout and a slightly thicker bottom bezel.
The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side atop the power button.
The Snapdragon 662 SoC is at the helm of the device with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There is no word on storage expansion through a memory card slot.
For software, the phone boots the outdated Android 10 with Huawei’s EMUI 11 on top. It will not have support for Google apps and services.
The circular camera island on the back includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth unit. This camera should be capable of up to 4K video recording at 30 FPS.
The punch-hole front camera is a 16MP sensor.
The 4,300 mAh battery has support for 66W fast charging that can fully charge the device in only 38 minutes. The phone will come bundled with a 66W charger.
The Huawei Nova 8i will be available in Moonlight Silver, Interstellar Blue, and Starry Black colors for $312.
