Oppo has quietly announced a new budget phone in China dubbed the A93s 5G. As the name says, this device is the higher-end sibling of the Oppo A93 with an updated chipset and price, but mostly the same specifications.
The display is a 6.5-inch LCD with a 1080p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It supports the DCI P3 color gamut and the brightness can go up to 600 nits. The selfie camera is placed in a cornered punch-hole cutout.
The phone will be available in black, blue, and gradient white color options as shown in the image.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC from the base model has been replaced with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, which has more or less the same performance but is based on a more advanced node. This is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. There is a microSD card slot as well.
The Oppo A93s 5G will boot ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11.
The main camera setup consists of a 48MP primary sensor accompanied by a duo of 2MP cameras for depth sensing and macro shots. This camera can record 1080p videos at 60 FPS.
The punch-hole front camera in the corner is an 8MP lens, which is also capable of 1080p video recording.
The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh with support for 18W fast charging. This should charge the device up to 100% in a little over 90 minutes.
The Oppo A93s 5G has been launched in China for $308, but the price will slightly differ in the global market.
