New Zealand Cricket announced their makeshift squad for the tour of Bangladesh and Pakistan. Wicket-keeper batsman, Tom Latham, has been appointed as captain of the limited-overs side as Kane Williamson has been left out due to his commitments with the Indian Premier League.

Several first-choice players including Trent Boult, Kyle Jamieson, Lockie Ferguson and Tim Siefert are also scheduled to take part in the Indian Premier League and have also been left out of the squad.
New Zealand are scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series in September before the historic tour of Pakistan to play a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series. This will be New Zealand’s first tour of Pakistan since 2003.
Experienced players Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, and Colin de Grandhomme along with exciting youngsters such as Ben Sears and Blair Tickner have been included in the T20I squad for the tour of Pakistan.

New Zealand Cricket’s (NZC) Chief Executive, David White, said that the squad has been announced keeping in mind the workload of the players ahead of a busy schedule, which includes the upcoming T20 World Cup in October and November. White said that he is impressed with the depth in the squad of New Zealand and is hopeful that the Blackcaps will be successful in the upcoming tours.
