Islamabad police have arrested a man on Sunday for torturing and killing a cat and hanging it upside down on the stairs of his house in the Lohi Bher area.
According to the police officials, the incident took place in the jurisdiction of Lohi Bher police station and was reported by a citizen, Anila Umair, who approached the police and registered a complaint against her neighbor, a retired government officer, identified as Raja Abdul Qayyum.

The Lohi Bher police registered the case under Section 429 of the Pakistan Penal Code and arrested the accused.
According to the Lohi Bher Police Station House Officer, Ghulam Rasool, the accused has denied murdering the cat by hanging and said that he did not know who strangled the cat to death on the stairs of his house.
