The Ministry of Health has issued new guidelines for booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines that will come into effect tomorrow.
According to details, booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines developed by Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Pfizer will only be administered to outbound travelers, including students, workers, and tourists.
Those who want to receive a booster dose will first have to pay a fee of Rs. 1,270. The fee can be deposited at all branches of the National Bank of Pakistan.
After paying the said amount, outbound travelers would be administered the booster dose at only selected Mass Vaccination Centers (MVCs) across the country.
While adults will be able to receive the booster doses of Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Pfizer, children aged between 12 and 17 years will only be administered Pfizer as an additional vaccine.
On the other hand, outbound travelers have criticized the Health Ministry’s latest directive to charge them for the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and called for its immediate withdrawal.
