Pakistan to Receive Another 3.5 Million Doses of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

More than 3.5 million doses of Pfizer’s Coronavirus vaccine donated by the US under the COVAX program will arrive in Pakistan this week, which will push the total number of Pfizer vaccine doses donated by the US to 9.5 million.

Over 6 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine donated by the US had reached the country last week.

Speaking to the media, US Embassy’s Chargé d’affaires, Angela Aggeler, said, “Pakistan and the US will continue to work together to put an end to this devastating pandemic.”

She added that “both countries will keep on cooperating to improve infection prevention and control, enhance patient care, expand testing capacity, and support frontline healthcare workers.”

Besides, another 720,000 doses of Pfizer’s vaccine are expected to arrive in the Pakistan next week, which would take the total number of Pfizer’s vaccine received by the country to around 10.5 million.

Previously, more than 3.7 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine donated by the US had arrived in the country on 26 August.
