Juzzak Airport in Balochistan is Now Operational for Chinese Engineers

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has made the Juzzak Airport in the Chagai district of Balochistan operational for chartered flights to and from Karachi.

The airport will be used for Chinese engineers working on various Saindak Copper-Gold projects in Balochistan.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will use an ATR turboprop aircraft to perform chartered flights between Karachi and Juzzak in this regard.

The Juzzak airstrip has recently been upgraded, whereas its license was renewed in August 2021.

In a separate development, the first PIA flight landed at Kabul airport on Monday morning after the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan.

Special security arrangements were made by the Afghan Civil Aviation officials and local PIA staff.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that the flight was sent as a goodwill gesture and to boost cooperation.

He hoped that the national flag carrier would fully resume flights to Afghanistan soon.
