Govt Will Now Arrest and Fine Unvaccinated Citizens

In a bid to expedite the COVID-19 vaccination process in the country, the federal government has decided to arrest and fine unvaccinated people.

According to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Hamza Shafqaat, new directives are being issued by the National Command and Operation Centre, following which citizens would not be permitted to use railways, airline, and bus services without showing their vaccination certificates.

He said that if someone wants to travel, they must be inoculated, or else they cannot use transport services.

“We have changed our strategy this time and despite implementing a smart lock-down strategy, our focus will be to ensure maximum citizens to be vaccinated. We have managed to administer the vaccine to over 80% citizens and the positive ratio has also decreased to almost 2 percent,” he said.

Meanwhile, the administration has opened indoor dining, weddings, schools, and other activities.

The deputy commissioner said that the cinema industry has been negatively affected due to the pandemic, however, it will now be reopened.

He stressed that the main focus right now is to vaccinate the remaining 20 percent of the population.
