Tecno Camon 18 Premier Launched With 120Hz AMOLED Screen, Top of The Line Cameras

Tecno has just launched its most powerful phone to date, the Camon 18 Premier. It is the most feature-rich phone out of any Tecno handsets with a 120Hz AMOLED, periscope camera, and super steady lenses. These features are usually found in flagship phones only.

Design and Display

Upfront, the display is a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness is 550 nits and it has a tiny punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera at the top middle. The fingerprint sensor on the side doubles as the power button.

Internals and Storage

The MediaTek Helio G96 chip sits at the helm of this device, which, for those unaware, is equal to the Snapdragon 732G in terms of performance. This is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Tecno does not mention this, but considering the phone’s premium features, the storage is likely UFS.

There is no word on expandable storage either but the phone boots Android 11 OS with Tecno’s Hi OS 8.0 on top.

Cameras

The main camera is one of the main highlights of the device. The Camon 18 Premier has a 64MP main camera next to a stabilized 12MP gimbal module that can shoot incredibly steady photos and videos. The third lens is a periscope camera capable of 5x optical and 60x hybrid zoom. Thanks to this, the phone can take clear close-up shots of the moon, just like Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

This camera has support for night portrait video mode, portrait video bokeh mode, and a special super night mode. The tiny punch-hole front camera is a 32MP shooter.

Battery and Pricing

The battery compartment sports a 4,750mAh cell with support for 33W fast charging. This can give you a 64% charge with only 30 minutes of charging.

Tecno has not revealed pricing details, but the phone will be available in Polar Night and Vast Sky color options (shown in feature image) once it goes for sale.
