Civil Aviation Authority Allows Meals on Local Flights

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allowed meals and refreshments on domestic flights, as per an announcement today.

The development follows its tweet on Sunday, which read:

It has been observed through numerous complaints made by passengers that airline operators are not serving in-flight meals onboard domestic flights within Pakistan.

CAA has instructed all the airlines operating on domestic routes to serve in-flight meals and beverages to their passengers. Additionally, passengers are not to be deprived of the service unless authorized by the CAA or the National Command & Operation Center as a precaution against COVID-19.

A spokesman for Pakistan International Airlines said that serving in-flight meals had been suspended for several months because of the pandemic.

He said that preparations to serve in-flight meals and refreshments are underway and the service will be resumed soon.
