Quetta-Sibi Transmission Line Restored on PM’s Directives After Over Two Weeks

The Quetta-Sibi transmission line has been restored following special directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The transmission line is now supplying 300MW electricity to Quetta, according to a press release from the PM Office.

But it took more than two weeks to restore the line and reinstate the supply of electricity. A large population of the flood affected areas were without electricity and basic needs in Balochistan after the flood, the reinstatement of which took more than expected time.

The 220 kV Quetta Industrial Grid Station has also been restored, and 19 grids of 132 kV have been connected to the Quetta Industrial Grid Station.

Furthermore, National Highway 65 (NH65), which connects Sukkur and Quetta, has been opened for heavy traffic, which will allow easy access for the provision of flood relief items.

The premier is closely monitoring the restoration works and is being updated daily on the status of relief and restoration operations.
