Serena Hotels Buys Pearl Continental Peshawar

Serena Hotels has taken over the control of Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel Peshawar from the Hashoo Group.

Despite various figures circulating in the media, there has been no official confirmation by Serena Hotels of the purchase amount.

Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development’s Tourism Promotion Services (TPS), the owners and managers of Serena Hotels in Pakistan, have made a capital injection in the hotel to settle down its financial liabilities.

According to a press release, this will be the ninth Serena Hotel property located in Pakistan.

This acquisition will allow for regional connectivity for tourists through Serena Hotel’ extensive portfolio in Islamabad, Kabul, Dushanbe and Peshawar. The brand portfolio will be elevated to a new level with the addition of the Hotel as a gateway into Central Asia.

Serena Hotels is a global brand that has been associated with exceptional destinations. The centrally located Hotel Building will be renovated and refurbished by the company. After the Swat Serena Hotel, this will be the second Serena Hotel located in KP. This allows the brand to connect diverse tourist communities with the rural areas of the province.

Peshawar Serena Hotel will be upgraded with the new construction which will improve the quality and comfort in guest rooms, restaurants and banqueting rooms, public areas, and Maisha Spa and Health Club. To ensure that service delivery is consistent with Serena Hotels standards, the company has developed rigorous training plans for its Associates.

The properties of Serena Hotels in Pakistan include Islamabad and Faisalabad as well as Quetta, Gilgit Shigar, Khaplu. Altit, Hunza, Hunza, and Sost. Two new Hotels are also under construction in Gilgit-Baltistan: the Hunza Serena Hotel, which has 85 rooms, is expected to be commissioned in the latter half of 2023 and the Sost Serena Hotel, with 56 rooms. These hotels will be commissioned in 2024.

Pearl Continental Peshawar was established in 1975 and was last renovated in 1994. Located in the strategic location of the city, the hotel is located near the Governor House, Army House, and the Peshawar High Court, having a capacity of 272 elegantly appointed rooms and suites along with four banquets, meeting & conference facilities, and three food & beverage outlets.
