Traffic congestion from DHA-2 and DHA-5 along Islamabad Highway is creating severe frustration among the residents of the twin cities.
According to a media report, many residents are demanding action against the terrible traffic situation in the area. An anonymous lady, who picks up and drops off her kids at a local school, stated, “It takes me hours to get my kids to school and back home, and I’m tired of it.”
Likewise, some daily travelers blamed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for their poor project management. One resident called the activities “ill-conceived, haphazard, and chaotic.” He expressed his frustration with the administration’s inability to manage traffic aptly in this situation. “It’s unacceptable, and we’re suffering the consequences,” he said.
Another individual suggested suing authorities for the mental anguish that this traffic puts him through daily. Another resident pointed out:
Besides the inconvenience, the wear and tear of our vehicles due to the dug-up roads are causing us significant financial losses.
The Islamabad traffic police are also under fire due to traffic mismanagement. Despite mounting discontent, officials have not resolved the traffic bottleneck, leaving residents to wonder when the poorly performed project will end.

It is not just mismanagement of CDA and FWO… DHA administration also responsible for this mess they created …no proper planning free hand to contractor to create more and more mess …. contractors has totally digout all the roads residents , ambulance kids going to schools all got stuck because of mess ..no one was to there to guide despite i was Busy expressway with huge load on heavy traffic on it ..shame on them

We are suffering from this situation since January. Every day we have to find/explore new way to go to DHA 2 and come back to DHA 5. CDA, FWO, Islamabad Traffic police and DHA management have been miserable in handling the situation. Today , due to rain the conditions have gone worst. Yesterday it took me two and a half hours to reach from Giga Mall to DHA 5.
Two monkeys can plan better than this good for nothing CDA.
All over the world when repair or expansion of busy roads are undertaken the construction work is performed day and night inorder to complete the work in shortest possible time to avoid prolonged inconvenience to the commuters .but the pace of this under construction road is extremely slow rather at a lesurely pace.the authority concerned it appears is totally unmindful of the public difficulties and hazards being faced by them.to get the work expedited the residential association of the area must submit an appeal to the prime minister to take notice of the irresponsible manner in which the reconstruction of this road is proceeding.a notice should also be served by the residential association to the construction company to complete the work within one month and assurance by the concerned company be extended to the association regarding completion of the work by the proposed time.the construction company should also be warned of legal action Incase of accidents on the said road.unless representative bodies of residential complexes located in this area resort to serious actions against the irresponsible behavior of the construction company and concerned agencies this serious problem will continue to linger for at least next 4 to 5 months.
I am facing this situation from last month. From Sihala pull to T Chowk as its 2-3 Km that takes hours now. There is no proper planning while making road. Road makers are running traffic on 1 way road. Traffic police also not stoping trucks before t Chowk or sihala pull. At morning time truck and small vehicles join together on one way road and creates mess. Everyone is enjoying the party and state is sleeping.
A nuisance for commuters and nobody is bothered no relief in sight .
I can feel the misery and pain of residents commuting daily just imagine we people of Barakoh are facing this problem for last twenty years we do not have any traffic sense (keeping to your lane) break all traffic rules have no patience and are always in hurry. As a people we are morally at the lowest level fo not blame ICT police
The poor Project Management on Islamabad Expressway points out the possible corruption in this sector. Besides the severe mental stress, the wear and tear of the vehicles and damages are causing a big financial loss to the citizens. It normally takes several hours to cover few KMS distance. The authorities seems least interested to complete the project soon.
