Lahore Police Intensify Crackdown on E-Challan Defaulters

Lahore Traffic Police have stepped up their crackdown on vehicles with unpaid e-challans, impounding three vehicles, including a government vehicle, carrying outstanding fines exceeding Rs. 100,000.

According to a spokesperson, Traffic Inspector Zaheer intercepted a vehicle with pending e-challans worth Rs. 134,000. In a separate operation on Mall Road, Traffic Inspector Azam stopped and impounded a government vehicle with unpaid fines amounting to Rs. 101,000.

Meanwhile, Patrolling Officer Alam Butt took action against another vehicle whose owner had failed to clear e-challans worth Rs. 134,000.

The spokesperson said the owners of all three vehicles paid the outstanding fines immediately after the action was taken to avoid further penalties.

To strengthen enforcement against repeat violators, Lahore Traffic Police and the Safe Cities Authority have formed 16 special teams dedicated to identifying and taking action against e-challan defaulters.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi urged citizens to check a vehicle’s e-challan record before buying or selling it and advised motorists to follow traffic laws to avoid fines.
