Pak Suzuki Stops Bike Production and Extends Car Plant Shutdown

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has decided to extend its plant shutdown due to an inventory shortage.

In a press release, the auto manufacturer announced that it has decided to shut down its automobile plant from October 30 to November 3. Furthermore, the motorcycle plant will remain closed from November 1 to November 3.

Earlier, Pak Suzuki had announced to shut down its automobile plant for two days, from October 25 to October 27.

It is worth mentioning that Pak Suzuki isn’t the only auto manufacturer to suspend its production. Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) shut down its plant for a month, until November 17, and Honda Atlas announced ceasing its operations from October 24 to October 31.

Despite the recent improvement in the value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar, the majority of auto-giants have not reduced their prices. Recently, news about Honda Atlas cutting its bikes’ prices was widely circulated on social media.

However, the news was denied by a major dealer of Honda bikes. He told a local media outlet that the prices aren’t going to come down any time soon.

So far, KIA and MG are the only companies that have significantly reduced car prices. KIA cut its prices by up to Rs. 500,000, while MG decreased the price of HS Essence by Rs. 600,000.
