Shaheen Afridi’s Cryptic Post Might Affect His Selection For Bangladesh Test Series

Pakistan star pacer, Shaheen Afridi recently found himself in the spotlight following a heated exchange with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan’s tour of England, just before the World Cup.

The incident occurred during a practice session at Headingley, where Shaheen Afridi’s behavior reportedly displeased the coaching staff and board officials.

The confrontation began when Yousuf criticized Afridi for bowling too many no-balls. In response, Afridi curtly told Yousuf to stop interrupting his practice, escalating into a tense argument between the two.

According to the reports Pakistan Cricket Board will drop the former captain from the Bangladesh Homes series as a disciplinary action against Afridi.

In response to the controversy, Afridi posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account. He shared a video of himself bowling to Misbah-ul-Haq during a net session in England, where Misbah is seen preparing for the World Championship of Legends 2024 matches.

Afridi captioned the video with “Rise Above”, hinting at his determination to move past the incident that happened at Headingley.

Following the altercation, Afridi was reprimanded by the team management and subsequently apologized to Yousuf in front of the team, which seemed to settle the matter temporarily.

However, sources indicate that Afridi’s conduct might impact his selection for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh, with considerations for resting two to three senior players as well for the home series.
