Pakistan Railways has announced that all railway offices across the country will remain closed on July 17, 2024.
According to an official notification, this closure applies to all railway reservation offices and other facilities. Railway officials have confirmed that normal operations will resume immediately after this date without any disruptions.
The temporary closure aims to allow railway staff to observe Youm-e-Ashur, the 10th of Muharram. Officials have ensured that services will remain unaffected before and after the closure.
Earlier, the federal government declared July 16 and 17, 2024, as public holidays. This announcement was made by the Cabinet Division.
The federal government has also approved the deployment of armed forces across the country to maintain law and order.
This deployment, authorized under Article 245 of the Constitution, is in response to requests from various regional authorities including Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
