The discovery was made during a routine search of passengers planning to travel on an international flight. According to customs rules, travelers can only carry up to 5,000 US dollars or its equivalent in other currencies out of Pakistan without declaring it.

After seizing the currency, customs authorities allowed the passenger to proceed with his journey, but they confiscated the undeclared US dollars.
