Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises are anticipating their revenue share from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and have formally reminded the board with a joint letter.
The franchises were supposed to receive 45% of the central income pool by May 5th, which includes player fees and operational costs. An additional 10% is usually held back for audit adjustments. The franchises are expecting to receive the remaining 45% by July 5th.
The franchises have not yet received their payments from the PCB. PCB officials explained that the delay is due to pending dues from various stakeholders, and payments will be made once these are cleared.
The PCB is owed a significant sum of Rs 3.1 billion from several stakeholders, with the largest amount being Rs 1.2 billion owed by a major entity.
Another company has to settle a payment of Rs 7.4 billion. This company will pay a substantial amount to the board, allowing for the necessary adjustments.
Other stakeholders owe amounts of Rs 492 million, Rs 184 million, Rs 147 million, Rs 41.5 million, and Rs 293 million. Each franchise will receive Rs 525 million, once these payments are made.
Franchises recently sent a joint letter requesting early payment of dues, exemption from late payment penalties, information on the tenth edition’s schedule, updates on matches in the UK, and a list of foreign cricketers available after discussions with other boards.
Apparently the PSL is not a top priority for officials and franchises are expected to receive response within a week of the Muharram holidays.
