In a coordinated operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) have arrested nine Pakistani murder suspects in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the special operation, nine suspects wanted in serious crimes were arrested from the UAE,” the FIA said. “The accused persons were arrested due to a joint strategy of Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Abu Dhabi.”
According to the statement, the suspects, wanted by police in Pakistan’s central Punjab province, face charges including attempted murder and murder.
The statement added that among these suspects, Punjab police had sought one for 14 years, another had already deceased, and the remaining had fled abroad after committing murders.
The Agency further stated that all the murder suspects were apprehended from various locations in the UAE. Moreover, a local team has been dispatched to extradite the accused individuals to Pakistan, where they will be handed over to the Punjab police.
The arrested include Irfan Asghar, Farhan Nazakat, Samar Abbas, Najibullah, Saddam Hussain, Muhammad Rafeeq, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Usman, and Tariq Mehmood.
