Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced lower airfares for Umrah pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia. A PIA spokesperson announced that pilgrims flying from Toronto to Madina with a layover in Lahore will enjoy a 15% fare discount.
This reduced fare is available starting now and will continue until November 15. It should be recalled that just last month, the national flag carrier introduced a significant 30% fare reduction for flights to various cities in Saudi Arabia.
The discounted fares applied to flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Al Qassim, providing travelers with a more affordable option for their trips. However, the limited-time offer ended last month.
Meanwhile, PIA has also announced that direct flights from Quetta to Saudi Arabia will begin on August 6. It is expected to make travel easier for Umrah pilgrims and other passengers from the Balochistan region.
The officials confirmed that the airline will run two weekly flights between the city of Quetta and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Previously, passengers from Quetta had to connect through Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad, which often created challenges and inconveniences for citizens.
