Google has officially confirmed the existence of the highly anticipated Pixel 9 Pro Fold, marking a significant step forward in the company’s foldable smartphone lineup.
The tech giant unveiled the device alongside the Pixel 9 Pro in a recent teaser, setting the stage for a major product launch on August 13th.
Initially announced in June, Google had kept the exact lineup for the August 13 event under wraps. However, persistent rumors and leaks pointed toward multiple Pixel devices, including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the now-confirmed Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Expanding its reach, Google’s Indian branch has also revealed plans to launch the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in the country on August 14th. This means it should be August 14 in Pakistan once Pixel 9 comes out, not that we’re ever getting an official launch sadly.
The specific teaser for India suggests that the Pixel 9 Pro will also debut in India alongside the foldable model. While details about the availability of other Pixel models in different markets remain uncertain, the confirmation of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold has generated significant excitement among Pixel fans.
The foldable market is starting to heat up quite a bit. Samsung has recently unveiled its latest Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 6 while Xiaomi has unveiled its first-ever flip foldable alongside the Mix Fold 4 a few days ago. The ball is now in Google’s court and it’s up to the software giant on whether it can outclass Samsung and Xiaomi.
