Several flights were canceled at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Monday due to technical issues and operational problems.
PIA flight PK-157 from Karachi to Islamkot and PIA flight PK-503 from Karachi to Gwadar were both canceled on Monday due to technical and operational issues.
Serene Air’s flight ER-502 from Karachi to Islamabad was canceled, along with flight ER-554 from Karachi to Peshawar. Serene Air’s flight ER-522, scheduled from Karachi to Lahore, was also canceled.
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued a rain warning for Karachi Airport in response to the expected rainfall.
The rain alert issued by the CAA for Karachi Airport includes monitoring the runway and its vicinity over the next 24 hours, relocating small aircraft to secure areas, securing their wings with weights, and addressing issues with insects and birds in the runway area.
To guarantee flight safety, the CAA has increased the number of bird shooters. It has also directed to keep airport runways clear of water by ensuring proper drainage through connected systems.
