Xiaomi 15 to Improve Battery Life Compared to 14

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 series in China during the fourth quarter of 2024. Recent leaks and rumors surrounding the series have provided early insights into its design and features.

According to a Weibo tipster, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will retain the familiar square camera module placement on the device’s upper left corner.

The upcoming models are expected to offer improved battery life compared to their predecessors, the Xiaomi 14 series. To enhance connectivity, the Xiaomi 15 series is rumored to include a satellite communication option.

Previous reports suggested that these smartphones would be the first to ship with HyperOS 2.0, offering enhanced cross-platform capabilities compared to its predecessor. The company is also prioritizing AI features in the new series.

Powering the Xiaomi 15 series will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, expected to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit in October. Built on TSMC’s advanced N3E node 3nm process, the chipset incorporates Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU core and a new Adreno GPU, potentially the Adreno 830. Benchmarks suggest the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could achieve an impressive AnTuTu score exceeding 3 million points.

While Xiaomi plans to introduce the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra globally in the first quarter of 2025, the Pro model will likely remain exclusive to the Chinese market, just like last year’s Xiaomi 14 series.
