The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training launched a recruitment campaign to address the teacher shortage in federal government schools and colleges which is now in its final stage.
On Monday, an official stated that the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training had posted advertisements in March for 237 Elementary School Teacher (EST) roles, comprising 102 positions for men and 135 for women.
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) conducted the screening test for 21,564 candidates using an AI-based assessment system developed in partnership with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).
The Establishment Division then authorized the formation of four distinct interview panels to continue with the recruitment.
Each of the four panels, led by a BS-20 officer and including members from educational institutions and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), conducted interviews between May 28 and June 5.
This method was implemented to ensure transparency and prevent external influence. Consequently, 211 qualified candidates were selected and issued offer letters.
Furthermore, 72 female Secondary School Teacher (SET) positions were forwarded to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). After reviewing the candidates, the FPSC recommended those eligible, and the ministry has issued offer letters to 47 of them.
