Rs. 25,000 Per Teacher for Census Duty Finally Released After Over a Year

On Friday, the district administration released funds for 5,500 teachers from Lahore who had worked during the last census a year and a half ago.

According to a report, Rs25,000 per enumerator has finally been released. The teachers had to endure considerable delays and difficulties to receive their payments one and a half years later.

Earlier in February this year, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet approved Rs4 billion for the enumerators who took part in the 7th population and housing census.

This amount was part of the total demand of Rs11.9 billion. The Rs4 billion were released after boycott their duties in the general elections.

In a separate news, the census date recently released revealed that Pakistan recorded the highest population growth rate in the region. Furthermore, the country’s population is projected to double by 2050.

According to the census results, Pakistan has become the world’s fifth most populous country, with a population of 241.49 million. Of this total, 51.48% are male and 48.51% are female.
