Pakistan Volleyball team kick-started their Asian U18 Volleyball Championship journey with a hard-fought victory against South Korea in Bahrain.
The Green Shirts clinched the win with a 3-2 scoreline, displaying resilience throughout the match. The set scores were 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 25-20, and 13-15 in favor of Pakistan.
Following this thrilling opener in the Asian U18 Volleyball Championship, Pakistan is set to face India in their next match on Monday, with their final group-stage game against Kuwait scheduled for July 30.
The matches are being held at the Bahrain Volleyball Association and Bahrain Table Tennis Association halls within the premises of Isa bin Rashid Sports City in Riffa.
The Pakistani squad for the championship includes Talal Ahmed, Abu Bakar, Muhammad Issam, Muhammad Hassan, Gibran Ajmal, Junaid Muttahed, Ali Shah, Muhammad Junaid, Muhammad Yahya, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Nasir, and Khizr Hayat.
In this tournament edition, 16 teams are divided into four groups. Group A consists of Bahrain, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Australia.
Group B includes Japan, Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan while Group C features Iran, China, Lebanon, and the Philippines, meanwhile, Group D comprises India, South Korea, Kuwait, and Pakistan.
With this opening victory, Pakistan has made a promising start to their campaign, aiming to advance further in the championship. The team’s performance will be keenly followed as they prepare to face India today in a crucial encounter.
