Realme Narzo N61 Brings Durability for Cheap

Realme has quietly released a new budget phone, the Narzo N61. Unlike most phones in the same price range, the Narzo N61 is built to last thanks to a durable body and is positioned under the Narzo N63 in terms of price and specs.

Design and Display

It has a metal frame and strong glass on the outside for protection. Even the internals get extra protection with enhanced shock absorption for the main circuit board. Realme has sealed up the charging port and SIM card slot, the phone can handle dust/water splashes (IP54 rating), and the phone has also received a TÜV Rheinland High-Reliability Certificate.

The Narzo N61 matches with its sibling, the N63, in terms of several specifications. It’s got a 6.74-inch screen that refreshes 90 times a second and reaches 560 nits of peak brightness. The screen resolution is 720p. You can even use the screen while it’s wet, similar to some recent Oppo and OnePlus phones.

Internals and Software

Under the hood, it’s powered by the same processor as the N63, the budget Unisoc T612, with options for 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. You can also add more space with a microSD card. The processor comes with a 1.8GHz octa-core CPU and a Mali-G57 GPU.

The software on the Realme Narzo N61 is Realme UI 5.0 running on top of Android 14. It keeps its “Mini Capsule 2.0” UI showing quick info at the top of the screen similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Cameras

The Narzo N61 has a single 32MP camera on the back that can shoot video in 1080p. That’s the main difference compared to the N63, which has better cameras, both on the front and back. Speaking of which, the N61 holds a 5MP shooter in its punch-hole cutout.

Battery and Pricing

The phone has a big 5,000 mAh battery that should last over a day. But it takes a while to charge because it only supports 10 watts of wired charging, unlike the faster 45-watt charging on the N63.

The Realme Narzo N61 is only in India for around $90. Since the Narzo series is popular in Pakistan, there is a high chance that the Narzo N61 will be available here as well. The phone comes in blue and black color options.
