Pakistan U18 volleyball team triumphed over India at the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship in Bahrain today as they managed to clinch a 3-0 win.
The Pakistan volleyball team excelled in every facet of the game, maintaining pressure on their Indian counterparts throughout the match.
Despite a tough battle in the second set, which extended to a tie-breaker, Pakistan clinched a straight-set victory with scores of 25-20, 29-27, and 25-15.
Key players Ajmal Junaid, Abubaker, Muhammad Yahya, and Muhammad Anas played pivotal roles in this win, showcasing exceptional coordination and performance on the court as their contributions were instrumental in securing the 3-0 win.
Following the victory, the chairman of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) announced a reward of $100 for each player and member of the coaching staff in recognition of their outstanding performance against India.
In their opening match, Pakistan edged out South Korea with a thrilling 3-2 victory. The set scores were 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 25-20, and 13-15.
The roster for Pakistan includes Talal Ahmed, Abu Bakar, Muhammad Issam, Muhammad Hassan, Gibran Ajmal, Junaid Muttahed, Ali Shah, Muhammad Junaid, Muhammad Yahya, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Nasir, and Khizr Hayat.
This year’s championship features 16 teams divided into four groups. Group A includes Bahrain, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Australia.
Group B comprises Japan, Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan. Group C features Iran, China, Lebanon, and the Philippines. Group D consists of India, South Korea, Kuwait, and Pakistan.
Pakistan is set to face Kuwait in their final group game of the Men’s Asian U-18 Volleyball Championship on July 30.
