OpenAI is giving ChatGPT Plus subscribers a major upgrade with a new voice feature. This new Advanced Voice Mode will allow users to have more natural conversations with the AI, including interruptions and emotional responses.
The company says that everyone with a ChatGPT Plus subscription will get this new feature in the coming months.

OpenAI’s new voice feature for ChatGPT Plus comes with four voices created with the help of real voice actors. This should make the conversations feel more natural and safe.
The new voice feature, combined with the AI’s ability to understand emotions, could make ChatGPT the most realistic and natural-sounding voice assistant. ChatGPT Plus, which costs $20 a month, gives users access to the powerful GPT-4 model, and the ability to upload files, search the internet, and create images.
Since the AI industry is in fierce competition these days, it wouldn’t be surprising if Google’s Gemini chatbot also received similar features soon. The rival AI announced Gemini Flash, a lighter model that specializes in cost efficiency and speed. This news came soon after OpenAI announced GPT 4o Mini, which is a much cheaper option in the GPT family.
According to Amar Subramanya, VP of engineering for Gemini, the 1.5 Flash update brings “across-the-board improvements in quality and latency, with especially noticeable improvements in reasoning and image understanding,”
