Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started direct flights from Faisalabad to Jeddah to support Umrah pilgrims. The national carrier will run two flights each week on this new route.
PIA’s Chief Commercial Officer Naushirwan Adil bid farewell to 170 Umrah pilgrims on the first direct flight (PK 763) from Faisalabad to Jeddah. He highlighted PIA’s dedication to enhancing travel convenience for its passengers.
The new Jeddah flights will offer convenient travel options for those working in Saudi Arabia. The Chief Commercial Officer added that Faisalabad’s business community has also supported PIA’s direct flights to Jeddah.
Furthermore, the national flag carrier will also be starting direct flights from Quetta to Saudi Arabia. According to APP, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail will inaugurate the flight operation on August 6, 2024.
In separate news, a PIA flight attendant was recently caught smuggling foreign currency at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
During a joint operation, FIA immigration and customs officials arrested an air hostess from a PIA flight traveling from Lahore to Jeddah. They seized $37,318 and 40,000 Saudi riyals from her possession.
