PCB Denies Reports of Forming A Disciplinary Committee Against Cricketers

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmly denied the formation of a disciplinary committee or any decisions related to disciplinary actions against cricketers. The PCB clarified that reports about imposing bans or fines on players are unfounded and fabricated.

Local media reports were suggesting that Pakistan’s foreign head coaches, Gary Kirsten for white-ball cricket and Jason Gillespie for Tests, advised the PCB against taking disciplinary actions to help players focus on the upcoming international season.

Last month, there were claims that Shaheen Afridi had a confrontation with Mohammad Yousuf during the T20 World Cup, but this was described as a “heat-of-the-moment” incident.

Sources within the Pakistan cricket team management confirmed that the situation was resolved immediately, and there was nothing significant to report.

According to a source, the incident occurred when Afridi was bowling in the nets at Headingley. Yousuf, who was the batting coach during the tour of Ireland and England, pointed out Afridi’s repeated no-balls, leading to a heated exchange that was later resolved.
