Huawei, a well-known player in the foldable smartphone market, has introduced its latest device, the Nova Flip. This compact flip-style phone marks the first foldable in the Nova lineup and emphasizes fashion with its bold color options.
Despite its stylish appearance, the Nova Flip boasts impressive hardware, including a durable waterdrop hinge certified by SGS Switzerland to withstand 1.2 million folds.
The device features a 2.14-inch OLED cover display alongside dual cameras, while the main screen is a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED panel with a flexible refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hertz. The outer screen can be used to take selfies from the main camera and can also run some native apps like weather, music, and calendar.
Huawei has yet to reveal the processor and memory capacity of the Nova Flip, but a previous Geekbench benchmark suggests the phone is powered by the Kirin 8000 chip found in the Nova 12 and 12 Pro models.
Software-wise, the Nova Flip runs on HarmonyOS 4.2, offering AI features such as subject removal, text extraction from images, and image generation.
The Nova Flip’s camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with a large 1/1.56-inch RYYB image sensor and an F1.9 aperture lens. An 8MP ultrawide camera accompanies the main sensor, while a 32MP camera handles selfies. Both the front and back cameras can record 4K footage.
The device packs a 4,400 mAh battery and supports 66W wired charging.
Huawei offers the Nova Flip in four colors: New Green, Sakura Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black. Pricing starts at $744 in China.
