PMDC Changes Minimum Pass Percentage for Students Going Abroad for Medical Studies

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced a new mandate for students aspiring to pursue MBBS degrees abroad. According to the latest notification issued by the PMDC, students must now achieve at least 50% marks in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) to be eligible for MBBS or MD programs in foreign countries.

The PMDC’s decision underscores the importance of maintaining a high standard of medical education for Pakistani students, regardless of where they choose to study. The notification specifies that doctors who wish to obtain MBBS or MD degrees from international institutions are required to pass the MDCAT exam with a minimum of 50% marks before they can proceed with their studies abroad.

This new requirement is part of the PMDC’s broader efforts to ensure that Pakistani medical students receive a consistent and rigorous education, whether they study domestically or internationally. By setting a benchmark for MDCAT scores, the PMDC aims to ensure that students possess the necessary foundational knowledge and skills to succeed in their medical studies and future careers.

The PMDC has urged all prospective medical students to take note of this new requirement and prepare accordingly for the MDCAT exam. The council has also assured students that adequate resources and support will be provided to help them achieve the required marks.

  • Great step. Already these foreign shittty medical doctors have destroyed the care level that was already ruined by private nakamay filthy students and all wanted to compete with merit based government medical students using their wealth etc. I had to secure 92% aggregate score to get a spot in government college while lossers with below 50% are now equal to me using their parental wealth and cheap means.
