Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology Announces Two Separate Fees for OPD Services

The Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) has revised its fees, doubling the fees for faster medical test reports at its Outpatient Department (OPD). This fee increase is intended to speed up the process of receiving test results.

Furthermore, the fees for some tests will remain at their current rates. Previously, treatment and medicines at the OPD were provided free of charge with just a card. Now, new patients must pay Rs 400 for file preparation and Rs 1,000 for a doctor’s consultation.

RIC has introduced two separate fee options for medical tests: a standard fee and an expedited fee. Patients can choose between these options based on their need for speed.

For the normal fee, test reports will be available after a delay, while the expedited option costs double and ensures faster results.

The standard fees are as follows: Rs 110 for an Electrocardiogram (ECG), Rs 1,150 for an Echo, Rs 1,700 for an Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT), Rs 200 for an X-ray, Rs 200 for a Complete Blood Count (CBC), Rs 230 for a c-reactive protein (CRP) test, and Rs 180 for a Renal Function Test (RFT).

Expedited fees are Rs 220 for ECG, Rs 2,200 for Echo, Rs 3,400 for ETT, Rs 400 for X-ray, Rs 460 for CBC, Rs 700 for CRP, and Rs 360 for RFT. Evening charges are Rs 220 for ECG, Rs 1,500 for Echo, and Rs 3,000 for ETT.

The institute has introduced a new policy for emergency stent procedures, stating that the procedure will only be performed if it is deemed absolutely necessary and strongly recommended by the doctor.
