The Auditor General’s report has unveiled a significant lapse in security, revealing that weapons worth Rs. 1.5 million have been stolen from the Sindh Reserve Police.
The theft, attributed to severe negligence, involved the loss of 2 rifles, 5 submachine guns (SMGs), and 7 9mm pistols.
The report highlights concerns over the management and security practices within the police force, raising questions about the protocols for safeguarding valuable equipment.
The report also revealed that about 950 rounds of ammunition were among the stolen items. However, relevant authorities have not yet issued a report regarding the missing weapons.
The audit has called for an investigation into the recovery of these stolen arms, emphasizing the need for a detailed examination and appropriate measures to address the security lapse.
In separate news, a few weeks ago, dacoits stole parts of a CT scan machine and other equipment from a Sindh government hospital in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi.
According to reports, thieves took wiring, circuits, UPS units, batteries, and other essential parts from the Advanced Trauma Centre, where a CT scan machine costing over Rs. 10 million was installed. However, sources claim that the investigation into the theft has been halted by influential figures.

What I say to Auditor General! He and everybody knows that it is the common practice in Sindh Police that whatever weapons siezed or recovered, first check by the higher authorities so if DIG, SSP, or any SP whoe likes a weapon he keeps this and that would not be counted as recovered and would also not to be registered, they are the burden on the economy you are not imagining that how much losses they are incurring on government exchequer. Now, the maifa in police has stolen these weapons and they might have sold it to the black market and had already eaten up the money, you cannot do anything now.
