Drugs Worth Millions Caught at Karachi Airport By Customs

Pakistan Customs at Jinnah International Airport has successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt involving heroin valued at Rs. 20 million.

Syed Irfan Ali, a Customs spokesperson, revealed that action was taken following a tip-off received by Collector Customs Airport Adeem Khan. The intelligence suggested that an attempt was being made to smuggle the heroin from Karachi to Malaysia.

Khan directed Additional Collector Airport Faisal Khan to take specific measures to counter the smuggling attempt. He ordered the deployment of additional undercover staff both within and around the International Departure Lounge.

On Sunday evening, customs staff intercepted a passenger named Mohammad Usman, traveling to Malaysia on Batik Air flight OD-136. When questioned about prohibited items in his luggage, the passenger denied having anything suspicious.

Suspicious images were detected at the bottom of the suitcase, leading to its examination at the counter. There, two kilograms of high-quality heroin were discovered hidden inside. A case has been filed under the Customs and Narcotics Act.
