Pakistan Shaheens’ ODI Squad Announced For Series Against Bangladesh ‘A’ Team

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Pakistan Shaheens’ squad for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh ‘A’.

The ODI series is set to be held in Islamabad and will kick off on August 26 with the first match at the Islamabad Club. The second and third ODIs are scheduled for August 28 and 30, respectively.

Mohammad Haris, who recently led the Shaheens to the semi-finals of the Top End T20 Series in Darwin, Australia, will continue as captain.

Despite the semi-final loss to the Adelaide Strikers, Haris’ leadership and wicketkeeping skills have earned him the confidence of the selectors.

The PCB, in its official statement, emphasized the continuity in the squad selection, retaining 12 players from the recent Darwin tour.

This approach aligns with the board’s strategy of providing consistent opportunities to emerging talent, enabling them to showcase their abilities and push for a place in the senior national side.

Notable retentions include players like Abdul Faseeh, Arafat Minhas, and Faisal Akram, alongside others who have been integral to the team’s recent performances.

Two new additions to the squad are Mehran Mumtaz, a left-arm spinner who impressed during a four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’, and Azan Awais, a promising left-hand batter from the Pakistan U19 team.

The upcoming series provides a crucial platform for these young cricketers to shine and make their mark in Pakistan’s cricketing future.
