The SHO of Zaman Town has been suspended for allegedly making corruption allegations against IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon.
In a statement issued by SSP Korangi Touheed Rehman Memon, it was stated that SHO Muhammad Ashraf Awan of Zaman Town Police Station in Korangi District has been demoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector and immediately suspended pending an inquiry into his actions.
According to the official notification, during his suspension, Officer Muhammad Ashraf will continue to receive his salary and allowances and will be required to attend daily roll calls at SSP District Korangi.
The statement did not specify the reason for such severe action.
According to media reports, the SHO has alleged that the IG Sindh Police is accepting bribes for the “gutka and mawa” business.
A spokesman for Korangi Police stated that SSP Touheed Rehman Memon has taken notice of the news broadcasted by a private TV channel, attributing the allegations to the SHO of Zaman Town.
SP Shah Faisal will conduct an inquiry against the suspended SHO, and the facts will be revealed after the investigation.
SSP Ghulam Nabi Memon announced that the Sindh Police is taking strong action against gutka and mawa.

LOL.. instead of investigating the claim, suspend the whistle blower. Is this legal..??? In fact the IG and SSP should have been suspended and SHO given witness protection.
