No Objection Certificates (NOCs) have been officially granted to four prominent Pakistani cricketers by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), clearing the way for their participation in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024.
The tournament, set to commence on August 30, 2024, will feature some of Pakistan’s finest talents. Wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan and hard-hitting opener Fakhar Zaman are among the players who have received the PCB’s approval.
Azam Khan is set to represent the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Fakhar Zaman will don the colors of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
Joining Fakhar Zaman on the Falcons team are two-star Pakistani players including fast bowler Mohammad Amir and versatile all-rounder Imad Wasim, both of whom have also been granted NOCs.
Their participation is expected to add significant depth and experience to their respective squads, making them key assets in the CPL 2024.
However, not all Pakistani players received the green light. Saim Ayub, a promising young opener, was denied the NOC due to his ongoing commitments with Pakistan’s Test squad in the two-match series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.
Last month, PCB also withheld NOCs from star players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi for the Global T20 League in Canada, citing the need for rest ahead of a packed schedule leading up to the Champions Trophy 2025 hosted by Pakistan.
