Two Foreign Coaches Set to Return to Australia After Bangladesh Test Series

Following the conclusion of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Pakistan’s foreign coaching staff is set to return to Australia.

According to sources, Jason Gillespie, the red-ball head coach, and Tim Nielsen, the high-performance coach, will depart on Wednesday. Both coaches are expected to rejoin the team ahead of the upcoming Test series against England.

The Test series between Pakistan and England is scheduled to begin on October 7 in Multan. Gillespie, who is coaching Pakistan for the first time in this series against Bangladesh, has been overseeing the team’s preparations and performance.

Despite his efforts, Pakistan was defeated in the first Test held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium by Bangladesh for the first time in history in red-ball cricket.

While foreign coaches Gillespie and Nielsen head back to Australia, Physio Cliff Deacon alongside strength and conditioning coach Dreks Simon will stay behind in Pakistan.

They are tasked with conducting fitness assessments for the national Test squad and other international players, which must be completed before the Pakistan Champions One-Day Cup.

In the ongoing second Test, Bangladesh is battling in their second innings on the final day. Pakistan, in their second innings, managed to post 172 runs in 46.4 overs while setting a target of 185.
