Huawei’s highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone is finally making its debut. The Chinese tech giant has confirmed a September 10th launch date for the device, dubbed the Mate XT.
As the launch date draws near, a purported hands-on image of the Mate XT has surfaced online, offering a glimpse at the device’s side profile. However, even the Chinese source of the image is hesitant to vouch for its authenticity, urging caution among eager fans.

Given that the Mate XT will be the world’s first commercially available tri-fold smartphone, it’s difficult to assess the accuracy of the leaked image. The design of such a device remains largely uncharted territory, leaving ample room for speculation and skepticism.
Fortunately, the wait for official information is almost over. With the launch just a week away, Huawei is expected to unveil the Mate XT’s design and features in full, ending the rumors and speculation.
The purported Huawei Mate XT, if the leaked image and information are true, is said to be an engineering prototype boasting a hefty 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It’s important to note that Huawei may offer additional RAM and storage configurations upon official release.
Intriguingly, the alleged prototype was spotted on a Chinese secondhand sales platform with an eye-watering asking price of $2,371. This premium price tag is hardly surprising, considering the Mate XT’s status as a first-of-its-kind tri-fold smartphone on the market.
