Pakistan Drops Down Two Places in ICC Test Rankings

Pakistan’s cricket team has plunged two places in the ICC Test Rankings, falling from 6th to 8th after a string of disappointing performances and consecutive defeats.

The men in green, led by captain Shan Masood, have endured a challenging period recently, losing five consecutive Test matches.

This poor run includes consecutive series of whitewashes against Australia and Bangladesh, which have significantly impacted their standing in the ICC Test Rankings.

The recent series against Bangladesh was particularly damaging, as Pakistan suffered a historic 2-0 defeat in the Rawalpindi Test series.

This marks the first time Bangladesh has beaten Pakistan in a Test series, further compounding the woes of Masood’s side.

Currently, Pakistan has played 20 matches, accumulating 1,528 points with a rating of 76. These statistics highlight the team’s struggle to maintain consistency in the longest format of the game.

Meanwhile, Australia continues to dominate the rankings, holding the top spot, followed closely by India in second place. Pakistan’s dramatic drop in the rankings raises concerns about the team’s direction.

Pakistan aims to rebuild and revamp its domestic structure while nurturing young talent from the Pakistan ODI Champions Cup, scheduled from September 12 to September 29 in Faisalabad.
