The Bangladesh cricket team returned home victorious after a 2-0 Test series win against Pakistan, arriving on September 3 at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) welcomed the players with flowers and sweets, celebrating their impressive achievements at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The squad arrived in two groups at Dhaka airport, traveling from Karachi via Dubai and Doha to reach home. However, former captain Shakib Al Hasan did not accompany the team, heading instead to the United Kingdom. He will join his teammates later in India for their upcoming series.
The Tigers, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, have made significant progress in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, securing the fourth position. They have played six matches, winning three and losing three, accumulating 33 points.
Bangladesh is set to face India next, with two Tests and three T20 Internationals scheduled to begin on September 19 in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, continues to struggle in the WTC, having lost five consecutive Tests – three against Australia and two against Bangladesh deepening their woes.
Bangladesh’s strong performance against Pakistan is a promising sign that their Test side is finally becoming formidable and can beat any side on their day.
