The Lahore High Court has announced that all courts in Punjab will be closed on September 17, in observance of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi.
This decision was formalized through a notification issued by the Registrar following the approval of Chief Justice Alia Neelum.
The holiday will apply to all civil and session courts across the Punjab, including the Lahore High Court. This closure aligns with the broader observance of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi, a day of great significance for Muslims worldwide.
The announcement of the holiday follows the recent declaration by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee on September 4, which confirmed that the Rabiul Awwal moon was not sighted.
As a result, the Islamic month of Rabiul Awwal began on September 6, leading to the observance of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi on September 17.
Eid-i-Miladun Nabi, also known as Mawlid al-Nabawi, is celebrated with various religious activities and festivities. It is a time for Muslims to reflect on the teachings and life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), often marked by special prayers, sermons, and community gatherings.
