A petition has been filed to impose a ban on Pakistani cricketers taking their families abroad and to disclose details of the expenses involved.
According to media reports, Advocate Faisal Waheed has approached the Lahore High Court in this regard. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Chief Selector, Team Manager, Head Coach, and Captain Babar Azam have been made respondents in the petition.
The petitioner stated that he is a citizen of Pakistan and expressed disappointment over the Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the T20 World Cup, particularly after losing to the newly emerging American cricket team.
He argued that substantial expenses are incurred on the PCB and its cricketers, and the team’s defeat has deeply disappointed the public.
The petitioner requested the court to demand a detailed account of the team’s expenses during foreign tours, including the salaries and benefits of all officials.
Additionally, he urged the Lahore High Court to impose a ban on cricketers and officials from taking tours abroad without a purpose with their families.
Pakistan will now face England in a three-match Test series in Rawalpindi and Multan, the two venues have been confirmed by PCB to host England in the upcoming series.
