ICC Reveals Massive Prize Money for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

In a groundbreaking move, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced massive prize money for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in October.

The total prize pool has doubled to a whopping $7.96 million, with the champions set to receive $2.34 million, which is a 134% increase from the previous year.

This substantial boost reflects the ICC’s commitment to promoting gender equality in cricket and recognizing the growing popularity of the women’s game.

Scheduled from October 3-20 in the United Arab Emirates, the tournament promises fierce competition among the world’s top teams. The runners-up will secure $1.17 million, while semi-finalists will each take home $675,000.

In a move to ensure fairness, all ten participating teams will receive a base prize of $112,500. Additionally, teams placing fifth to eighth will earn $270,000 each, with ninth and tenth positions awarded $135,000 apiece.

ICC spokesperson Jane Smith commented, “This historic prize structure elevates the Women’s T20 World Cup to new heights. It’s a testament to the skill, dedication, and growing fan base of women’s cricket.”

The tournament kicks off with Bangladesh facing Scotland, followed by intense group-stage matches until October 15. Semi-finals are slated for October 17 and 18, with the grand finale on October 20.
