Police Uncovers Dead Animal Meat Being Sold in Karachi

Karachi’s local police have exposed a troubling case involving the sale of meat from deceased animals, reported a private news channel. According to details, authorities found that the meat from dead animals was being distributed to various hotels and shops in the city.

The Ibrahim Haidari police apprehended suspects in the Juma Khan Goth area, seizing 356 kilograms of meat and a rickshaw used for transportation. A case has been filed against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.

Similarly, in Lahore, a woman and her son were arrested for selling dead and underweight chickens earlier this week. The Punjab Food Authority, led by the Director General, ordered a major crackdown at Tollinton Market, leading to the disposal of 970 kilograms of unsafe poultry meat.

Early morning inspections revealed 44,000 kilograms of meat and poultry were checked. Dead chickens were discovered in a warehouse, prompting legal action. The Meat Safety team also found a shop secretly preparing dead poultry for sale.

Despite resistance, the operation, conducted under police supervision, successfully removed the harmful meat, highlighting significant hygiene issues at the shop.
